Suzie and Calvin's Wedding

Updated: Feb 18, 2023

I’ve known the Belitz/Ayers family for about half of my life now. I started babysitting Suzie’s nieces when I was in high school, and have continued to keep in touch even when they were too old for me to babysit them. So when (Aunt) Suzie texted me and asked me if Justin and I could photograph their wedding for them, there was no chance I was saying no!

The day started out how any Belitz/Ayers function would…hectic. Justin and I got to Suzie’s sister, Audrey’s house in the midst of hair and makeup being done. We took a few photos while they were getting ready before setting up some details shots.

As the ladies each got ready, we pulled them one by one to get some shots of Suzie with each of her bridesmaids. Suzie’s sons, Brendan and Ryan, also stopped in to hang out with their mom before heading over to the American Legion. You can see how awesome the lighting is inside the house, but we had been hoping to get outside for a few shots on the water. It was SO windy that day, but Audrey is lucky enough to have such great neighbors, that we were able to go across the street to get a couple of photos outside on the bay, where the wind was much more tame.

We all got into our cars and raced over to the American Legion in Toms River, where we would be spending the rest of the day. Justin and I met up with Calvin and his groomsmen who were all ready to take some photos. A lot less hectic than Audrey’s house, it took a little bit of coaxing to get the guys to loosen up. Calvin seemed a bit nervous to see his future bride, but his three sons were there to lend a hand (and a beer), and to keep us all laughing.

The time finally came to head indoors and start the ceremony! The ceremony was short and sweet, and a perfect depiction of the love Suzie and Calvin have for each other. After their “I do’s,” we headed back outside to get some photos of Suzie and Calvin’s beautiful blended family, and the bridal party. By the time we finished up with photos, everyone was ready to eat and get the party started! The drinks were plentiful and the dancing continued for the rest of the night. It was really an awesome time with a great group of people! Thank you Suzie and Calvin for trusting us to capture your special day!!!
