The one bittersweet thing about being a photographer is never really being able to attend a family party. This could either be because they land on weekends when most of our weddings take place, or because you’re asked to photograph the family event (this article is most definitely referring to the latter).
Sunday was my sister’s bridal shower for her wedding in August. It was hosted at my parent’s house and Laura and I attended with Julian. Many of Brittany’s friends were in attendance, along with her fiancé, Charlie, and many of his family members.
The day started with some catered Italian food like meatballs, eggplant, and chicken francese. There were also chicken fingers, which I couldn’t stop eating. After everybody ate, Laura hosted some games. We played games like “how well do you know the bride and groom” and Bridal Bingo. Afterwards, Brittany and Charlie opened some gifts and that was followed by dessert (cake and cookies).
As much as I initially wanted to experience the party instead of capture it, I did enjoy myself and I’m glad we were able to create some lasting memories for Brittany and Charlie. And I had the chance to eat some cake and cookies, so how can I complain? Julian sure did have a great time!
